Sinuate Media Welcomes Mountain West Autism Services

Oct 16, 2019 | Blog, News, Portfolio

We are happy to add a new client to our roster, Mountain West Autism Services owned by Las Cruces native, Stacey Graziano. Mountain West Autism Services offers Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) evaluations and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, as well as comprehensive psychological services and speech language therapy services to children and adults, which are all conducted by a licensed practitioner.

“A lot of families are on a 1-2 year waitlist. My practice is different because we offer autism spectrum diagnostic services from START to FINISH,” says owner and clinical psychologist Stacey Graziano.

Stacey was born and raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico (and before you ask, she was a Trojan), she also attended NMSU to get her Ed.S. degree. Both of her parents are educators, which fueled her interest to go into the psychology field. She went to grad school at the University of Utah, and currently resides in Utah with her family, where she enjoys watching the seasons change from one to another.

After receiving her PhD, she saw that there was a lack of availability and need for services. She wanted to be able to serve families in that capacity, so she decided to take matters into her own hands. Stacey opened up her business and began her in-home services in Utah. Because she grew up in Las Cruces, she holds the southern New Mexico area near and dear to her heart, which is why she offers her services in the area with her Albuquerque office.

As you call tell, Stacey has a strong connection between Utah and New Mexico and plans to pave the path in between the two and along the Southwest. She travels often, visiting New Mexico about every other month going back and forth to her Albuquerque office and throughout the region. When she is back home in Las Cruces, she enjoys hanging out with friends and family, and showing her 3 boys the Southwest by exploring the desert.

“They’re very fascinated with the cacti!,” Stacey shared.

When asked Stacey where she would like to see her business in the next 5 years, she said, “I’d like to see more diagnostic services and collaborations with community providers & adding more treatment options for families across Utah, New Mexico & its surrounding states.”

The passion and commitment that Stacey has shown to her practice and her community is quite amazing. She shared a very inspiring story of a current family that she is working with to help secure guardianship of a teen boy as he makes his transition to adulthood. “Although he’ll struggle with some social interactions, he’ll be able to have the opportunity to attend college, get his degree,” said Stacey.

Stacey is an inspiration and reminds us that it’s important to take care of ourselves, physically and mentally. Self-care is very important and everyone has their own “self care prescription.” Here’s hers: “Read! I like to read at least one non-work related book per month, listening to podcasts and focusing on being more mindful. I try to recognize my stress by taking breaks and cues on my emotional state. No phone, no email, just be there.”

Mountain West Autism accepts insurance in both New Mexico and Utah, click here to see if your insurance is accepted.
